Slag Detection System (SDS)

Slag Detection System (SDS) uses the method of infrared thermography for non-destructive and non-contact detection of slag directly during the process of manufacture. With the help of SDS it is possible to control steelmaking process achieving maximum yields of high purity product.

Vario Cam @ thermographic video camera with high resolution matrix which is used in SDS provides continuous monitoring of metal stream during the manufacture. Once a stream of slag occurs, the system automatically generates the alarm signal. SDS is an effective tool to maintain quality and minimize losses during the manufacture of high-grade steel. In the process of work it is possible to customize and synchronize the system for a specific works conditions.

SDS functionality and benefits:

• 19”central cabinet, technological version;
• IR camera protective housing, stainless steel with vortex blasting and cooling, fit to hard conditions of operation;
• Vario Cam@ high-definition resolution IR camera which ensures uninterruptable video surveillance and accuracy of slag detection;
• for the peripheral components interconnect (IR camera, monitors, alerting devices) copper cables are used at distances of less than 300 m from central line and fiber optic cables at large distances
