Bucket Thermographic Control System (BTCS)

Bucket Thermographic Control System (BTCS) make use of advanced infrared technology for non-destructive and non-contact control of temperature on buckets surface. Up to five infrared cameras are watching the bucket as it moves. The temperature is measured automatically on the basis of information received from cameras.

BTCS automatically triggers alarm signal when the temperature exceeds the preset limit and reliably reduces the probability of accidents and potential damage.

BTCS is a flexible system consisting of highly reliable components that allows it to be considered a universal tool for solving various problems of process control at metallurgical enterprises.

BTCS features:

  • fully automated control without human interference in the process;
  • activation of the entire volume of recorded data for comparison and analysis
  • alarm signal generation on default settings;
  • temperature factors of all buckets recording and analysis;
  • adjustment of the system to the manufacturing process;
  • main display allows real time image tracking, data processing, parameters alteration and monitoring;
  • remote monitors for mapping data of measurements and system status;

BTCS advantages:

  • average term of investments return is less than a year
  • fully automated process control of surface temperature data of all buckets in a line;
  • early detection of over-temperature areas owing to the uninterrupted monitoring  process;
  • buckets breakthrough prevention that allows to improve security, reduce costs and ensure trouble-free operation;
  • buckets operating mode optimization for the improvement of products quality and efficiency;
  • the system is practically unattended, it has no wearing parts;
  • user-friendly interface;
  • remote access is possible;

BTCS structure

BTCS composition:

  • reliable 19 " central cabinet;
  • protective housing made of stainless steel with vortex air blowing and cooling in harsh environment;
  • infrared thermographic camera Vario Cam@ with high-resolution (384 x 288 pixels) that provides continuous and accurate measurement of temperature;
  • external system components: IR cameras, workplaces, alarm signal generation;
  • fiber-optic cable for transmitting data without interference;
  • flexible network structure with TCP/IP protocol for adaptation to the particular conditions of a steel plant
