Leaders of business perfection of Central and Eastern Europe met on SUE “Vodokanal of St. Petersburg”

On September 22-23, 2011 in Russia on the basis of State Unitary Enterprise “Vodokanal of St. Petersburg” was held the 11-th meeting of quality leaders Club in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). The meeting was opened by P.Kalita (Ukraine) - President of the Club and F.Karmazinov - Chairman of the Club Council, Vodokanal general director. Managers and leading experts of enterprises - members of the Club from different countries, including Saturn Data International Company, as a member of quality leaders Club of Ukraine and laureate of the 15-th Ukrainian national quality contest for the model of perfection of the European Foundation for quality management (EFQM), learned the unique experience of “Vodokanal of St. Petersburg” with regard to perfection of the company, visited the production and administrative sub-divisions, acquainted with “The Universe of Water” museum and environmental children's center. The activities of “Vodokanal of St. Petersburg" team in the formation in society respect to water, raising of ecological awareness in children and young people, has caused a special delight within the meeting members.

Representatives of companies - club members also learned about current trends in the improvement of organization and in the development of national movements for business perfection and quality, discussed their internal issues and outlined promising trends for Club activity.

State Unitary Enterprise “Vodokanal” is a laureate of the Award for quality of Russian Federation government (2006), winner of the Award for quality of CEE countries (2010). In August 2011 the company was declared the Finalist of the Award for perfection EFQM - the most prestigious on the continent. One of the main principles on which “Vodokanal St. Petersburg” activity based is constant improvement. “Vodokanal” aims to be the best company in its sphere in Europe. They are constantly studying and analyzing their customer expectations and make corrections in their work. They implement innovative technologies into their work and create conditions for maximal realization of intellectual and business potential of their staff. This helps them to be successful permanently. In 2010 “Vodokanal” achieved impressive results. On the one hand, significantly improved the quality of water services to consumers, and on the other hand – they managed to achieve a significant reduction of energy consumption. In addition to providing the population of St. Petersburg with pure water a lot of attention is paid to the ensuring of purity of the Baltic Sea and to termination of impure sewage discharge into city reservoirs. Combined with the introduction of technology of deep removal of phosphorus and nitrogen on sewage disposal plan it has already had a positive impact on the Baltic Sea purity. For the improvement of the situation it is important to change people's mind. Therefore in 2010 “Vodokanal” actively developed its educational and enlightenment programs. “The Universe of Water” museum complex attended more than 200 thousand people during a year.
